Have you ever tried NOT giving a Border Collie his dinner on time? Pointless. Completely pointless. They herd you relentlessly until that bowl is tended to.
Benny GreenDogs have a well-developed circadian rhythm. They know when it it time for you to come home, wake up, and get off the furniture and be waiting at the door. They also can hear your individual car or footsteps a block away.
The resident cat seems to be able to distinguish between when I fill my tea kettle and all other water noises. I can wash a cup or fill a pot, and nothing; but she comes running the second she hears the tea kettle fill in order to beg for treats since I’m the only one that makes that unique sound every morning and I’m a soft touch compared to her owner.

Not only that, we can tell when you’re opening an inferior brand.

My dog would rather have had the potato chips.

Mine always figured that any noise in the Kitchen was a prelude to Food!

All I have to do is walk into the kitchen and my dog is there.
