As a child of about 8 (early 1950s), I went to a theater where child’s admission was 9 cents ($.09).Then one day, they raised it to TWENTY CENTS.Talk about inflation!
Back in the early fifties my folks would send my brother and me off the the movies on Saturday afternoon for the cartoon, newsreel, serial and feature film. They would often encourage us to stay and see the movie a second time (you could do that back then without being charged another admission). BTW, dad worked days and mom worked evenings but both were off on Saturdays. Hmmmm.

These days, the price of going to the movie is outrageous. Like I always say, wait six months, it’ll be out on DVD. Waita year and it’ll be on cable.
