It’s water powered

This should have been quite scandalous in 1958, could be that even some papers didn´t publish it.

As bizarre as it is, you’d think I’d remember it, but it doesn’t look the least bit familiar.

This wasn’t in any pocket book I read. Not even in more recent collections.

Wiley, for all his hatefulness, at least has figured out that they’re women, an not simply ‘new creatures.’The experimental use of ben day patterns is unusual for B.C.

As has been observed here before, the color strips are the ones that were added to the book. These in b&w were not. I have this book among others, and it’s been interesting to see how many were not in the book. In later books, the dates are added to the pages, so it’s easy to see how many strips were skipped, which are many. JH was probably quite limited with how many he could publish in the books. This is why it’s great that Gocomics have picked these classics up, since most of these haven’t been seen since they originally appeared in the papers, which in this case were before I was born.

To quote a later strip; “Ride, Sally Ride.”
