We used to eat that kind for breakfast when we were kids -looked just like little bales of hay and got stuck between your teeth.

Okay. So, in the brand name cereal, the twigs are chopped a little finer….

I remember the commercial. “Some trees are edible.”

Yep. I remember him well, God rest his soul. The commercials he did were a lot more interesting than the usual cereal ads.

Don’t sweat it, Nerwin, there’s no extra charge for the twig.

Ever eat a pine tree? Many parts are edible. So said Ewell Gibbons, who advocated that kind of stuff, and who eventually died from cancer. Creosote buildup, probably.

Contrary to Broomie’s claim, NOT all generics are “just as good” as the name-brand — several such as “Scotch Buy” of safeway and “Sam’s Choice” of walmart are closer to factory-reject!

No, Gibbons died of a genetic disorder, Marfan syndrome which causes defective connective tissue. That caused the aortic aneurysm that killed him. For all we know his diet prolonged his life.
