As always, Winsor MaCay’s artwork is gorgeous, and this fellow’s skating outfit is wonderfully goofy. But, and this is just my opinion, but I think the wording is poorly drafted. In panel three, for example, the word “enough” had to curl up to fit in the balloon. I’ve seen this problem before in “Little Nemo” and I think it takes away from the comic a bit.
Paul, the quite terrible lettering is a permanent feature of all McCay’s work. Heaven knows why. You’ll get used to it. If one loves McCay and his work, the lettering actually becomes an eccentric part of his strips, and one feels affectionate toward it.
