Is it just me; all my physics tests (including the standardized Provincial final) all had the formulas printing on a sheet that you could use. Obviously, how and when to use those formulas was left as an exercise to the student, but you didn’t have to memorize Fg = G(m1m2/r^2) and that G was equal to some ugly number.
I took honors physics in high school. Our teacher used to give us tests and quizzes on material which we were still covering in class, or had not yet covered. The class would always do poorly on every quiz, so we would go over each problem and solution the following week. I swear that if he had delayed each test and quiz by a couple of weeks until we had some familiarity with the subject matter, we would have all done much better.
