Katy: Om. Adam: What are you doing? Katy: I'm being good. Adam: Oh...is it a Santa thing? Katy: Yep. I'm just going to sit here and stay out of trouble. Adam: It's a good plan. But for nineteen days? Katy: If I do absolutely nothing wrong. Santa HAS to bring me a pony! I'm flipping the tables! Using his own rules against him. Adam: This is sounding kind of sinister. Katy: It's his game. I just mastered it.

Life goes better for people who do good things and treat others well
Can’t challenge this, but why is it from time to time bad things happen to good people?

rest of the year.
First, kids live in the present, they don’t even think of things that happened 10 months ago, or even for the most part, 10 minutes ago. Also when kids wishes start to have a serious impact on the family budget, some reality needs to set in. Not saying be honest with your kids by any means, just let them know Santa can’t afford a pony. Or, he can bring the pony, but he’s not going to come back every month to provide feed for the pony.

Actually, she’s just figured out the rules. She has yet to show mastery—that’s gonna take some days.
