I actually got a pay raise once for a meeting happy manager. Our issues were various flu and colds going around and being short people (seasonal) and she kept pulling our top office people out to more and more meetings on why no work was being done. Then my boss took the weekend to visit famly and got snowed in, his boss was snowed in, and I got to go to the meeting. The manager’s boss actually knew me. I was asked plainly by the VP what was wrong. I laid out about the seasonal sick and all our uppers were gone all the time. I was literally doing my job, my boss’s job and sometimes my boss’ boss’ job, and anyone that hadn’t made it in, I sometimes was doing some of their work too. We needed what staff we HAD on our workfloor. VP took manager by the elbow and escorted her out. Meetings stopped. VP called my boss and asked is she always like that? My boss said she’ll tell the truth, yes. I got a base pay raise… and you bet I hid from that manager from then on! Rita reminds me of that manager.

Almost sounds like the corporation my friend works at. They have “strike meetings” where they assign jobs to middle managers and make marketing managers do heavy manual jobs and the outdoor managers do office jobs. Stupid!
