Possibly tough love. Classrooms need order for there to be learning.

Riddle me this, Batman…Why should a student who refused to leave a classroom be treated more roughly than I see drunk and disorderly suspects being treated on Cops? That guy THREW her clear across the room and then jumped on her.

I don’t know how the police were ever involved in this situation. They are at schools to deal with CRIMINAL behavior. Not classroom discipline. The school administration shares in the blame for this… As well as the cop for lack of common sense.

It’s outrageous that the police we hire to protect us should be held to higher standards than the criminals they’re supposed to be protecting us from.

(This is hypothetical, of course, since they are not held to such a standard.)

Ah you asked the right questions. Before the video rolled, the kid had issues with both the teacher and the principal. Yet in the end, the police officer should have called for backup and maybe physically lifted the kid in the chair and carried them out. Or surrounded them with a show of force and used mace if they refused to obey. The cop was wrong in over reacting but there is more than an innocent little kid sitting in a chair to the story. Glad I left teaching years ago.
