The tree eating sequence is from Gertie the Dinosaur, a 1914 cartoon by Windsor McKay (aka Silas).
no-if the 1913 date is correct then this predates Gertie The Dinosaur and is probably the first working of the tree eating idea-Gertie’s debut if you will
Is this a reprint of any strip from the past week? ’Cause it sure reads like one.
