Carson was apparently a good surgeon. He’d be qualified to run the country if running the country was a medical procedure.

Their only qualification is that they aren’t at all qualified. I guess republicans like to feel their leadership is dumber/crazier than they are. It makes them feel normal.

Nice to see the deep thinking on display: Any topic brings out the ME HATE OBAMMER crowd. Yes, he never kited a payroll check or canned an employee, or even sheltered profits overseas. Trump was born rich and managed not to lose it all, and this is considered an achievement.

Well, at least you acknowledge Obama’s IQ, I guess. There is NO job that qualifies you for president. Period. You CAN look for competencies that relate to the job, such as:1. Intelligence2. Breadth of experience3. International experience or insight4. Ability to work with a wide range of people5. Ability to collaborate and engage with people who disagree with you6. Empathy7. Political insightAnd that’s not a complete list; it’s a partial one. As it happens, Obama does score on most of those things. So did George H.W. Bush (but not his son). So did Clinton. So did Reagan. So did FDR. So did JFK. So did Eisenhower. Now look at the list of candidates, and tell me who LACKS these things…

    1. I did say “MOST of those things.”2. Obama didn’t start the Drone Wars; he just stepped them up.3. I don’t have data to judge whether he has psychopathy. Other presidents have seemed more obvious (George W. Bush, for example, who had some of the markers.)
