Never had one bite. When I was about 7 or 8, I cut one’s head off, but got a couple of legs with it. The body and the head wandered around for what seemed like a half an hour, bumping into each other every so often. Fascinated my friend and I. We were easily entertained at that age.
Hey Ralph.. Norton here…..you’re right about ladybugs biting. I was quite shocked when I first started getting bit by ladybugs, that is until I was informed they were imports!
Yes indeed they bite! We had an infestation of pine aphids a few years ago. One morning we woke up with millions of ladybugs feeding on the aphids. Soon all the aphids were gone, and a few days later all the lady bugs were gone. But I was bitten by several of them. The Asian ones that are now common everywhere, can and do bite. They are not venomous, though.
