Look, Margaret! A bench! Oh my gosh! It feels so good to sit down! I know! My legs are killing me! All these hard marble floors! I don't think I could've stood one minute longer on... Don't rub it in!
In some major museums in my experience, the guards actually are allowed to sit down for a while on special little guard-stools, usually at the gallery entrances and exits….Maybe Moonie’s museum is not so enlightened yet.
I must say, even if allowed to sit, being a guard has to be among the worst jobs in the world. I’d much rather be, say, a garbage man than stand or sit around all day doing essentially nothing.

Long ago I read somewhere that watchmen in explosives factories had one-legged stools: allowed you to rest, but not fall asleep.

When I first got a job as a bellman my feet were killing me all day. But after six weeks I could stand all day and not feel it.
