I heard that Pastis’ first choice for a new character was Tom Turkey but there was an accident in the kitchen. So he had to pick his second choice WorryWartHog.

I love that he has actual legs and hooves on his hindquarters. The crocs having stick legs always seemed like a cheat!

Well, WartHog, I think you’re making a splendid ingenue appearance today and you should be proud of all those pesky remarks, meant in jest of course, that have come your way (South America – no me gusta el pescado para comir pero las frutas de malanga como son cocinado en mi pais de Cuba – muchos anos despues de Castro por supuesto, desde 1961 quando nos entraron a Miami con la familia), Singapore, Canada, non-Canada, and even here in sunny Sarasota, FL. I will look for you in cyberspace, dear WH (there, I’ve just given you a more corporate nickname). Feel better now? I kiss you on your furry forehead, ‘cause I think you could use some luv… Don’t need my net today.

Great new character, Cartoon-Boy! Just be careful that worrywarthog doesn’t become a crazed, paranoid serial killer! I mean, the first thing I thought of (like Jimbo31333, I guess) was the A-10 Thunderbolt II, affectionately known as the Warthog, a powerful weapon against our enemies….
