Dad: Look, Baldo... a cool used car for only $300! Baldo: Dad, this is a 1975 AMC Pacer... one of the worst cars ever made! Dad: Hmmm... Dad: Maybe we can get it for $200.
Being born in ‘77, I only experienced Pacers regularly as a little kid. One friend’s dad had one. They are actually not bad cars. They were spacious on the inside, but small on the outside. The Pacer was also pretty reliable and durable. There was an old commercial of a chef successfully making a sandwich in the back of one.

Pacer? worst car? What about the pinto or Ghia? Or the escort?

In college a friend hat a Matador with a 3 speed column shifter. Once you had an AMC you can only trade it in for another AMC

Dad’s correct. the others may be bad, but the only the Pacer can hold the title of “WORST” car in the US.

I had a Pacer. It was like driving a giant fishbowl. Lots of glass. But otherwise, it was OK.

Better than a Pinto. I actually saw one the other day that hadn’t been rear ended.

Try a MOTORCYCLE! Great mileage, extended range and girls love to ride on the back. Just be careful and drive defensively.

My uncle had a Pacer and loved it. Then it got stolen. It couldn’t be the worse car around if thieves wanted it.

Wayne’s World anyone?

Stylewise, Pacers were just ahead of their time. Slap a hybrid decal on the back and they would fit in with all the other fishbowls.
