What are we doing for Thanksgiving? The usual, the women are cooking and the men clean up and do the dishes. My late Dad started the tradition a long time ago. New male inductees into the family are somewhat surprised, but nobody gets out of doing it!Sometime the women take a walk.
We rotate the Holidays between the few remaining relatives in the area. The hostess fixes the main dish and one other thing, and everybody else brings something. We use “reply all” on the emails, so there are no duplications. Those nice plastic plates from Costco are wonderful, and pretty much everything else goes in the dishwasher.
Running around like crazy people like we do every year. The parents live in the same area and the sisters in law live in the same area only the parents and SILs are in different areas. I’m beginning to think they call each other and decide who is having what. Both areas are at least 40-45 minutes from where we live and about 20 minutes from each other and I have to bring something to each Thanksgiving. Makes me tired to even think about it.
Just the 4 of us, sons and hubby and I. Ham, Tofurkey, mashed taters, green bean casserole, and I don’t know what else. Just grateful we have the 4 of us. No other relatives close by, and my parents are gone now. Hubby was never close to his, in fact, he never knew his mom.
