I know someone who would be just like Lucy. And just like Lucy their more the person who needs to improve.
@Jonathan K, Thank you again for those links. Especially the second one. I’d been looking for the various things Snoopy refers to Marcie as when he’s the WWI Flying Ace and picturing Marcie as a French lass, but I actually discovered the June 28, 1979 dialogue was perfect for what I wanted. My baby sister just had her first child earlier this year and she’s been e-mailing pics of my niece. Some of the pics strike me a certain way and I mod them with various captions of what she might be thinking. My dad’s a big Snoopy fan so I got him a WWI Flying Ace stuffed toy that plays Linus and Lucy for Christmas. Since his work had him out where he could visit with my sister for Christmas this year, he opened it out there so one of the pictures my sister sent was of my niece with Dad’s Snoopy above her. Instead of thought bubbles for my niece, I had her playing the role of Marcie and gave Snoopy the thoughts from June 28th. Hope to hear my sister got a good laugh out of it. So far most of my captions she’s either found funny or dead on for what’s going on with her daughter.
Figuring out what will make somebody a better person and getting them to do it whether they want to or not…sounds like Lucy will have a great future in government work.
YIPES! This New Year’s related 1960 Peanuts Sunday strip previously rerun in 2007 is running in place of a not suited for 2015 year Peanuts related 1968 Sunday when New Year’s Eve isn’t Tuesday and comes Thursday in 2015.
I wonder if we start cycle 2 of 1969 Peanuts this week anyway…
I am sure that I’ve seen this before, but wasn’t there a panel between the first and second here? I only remember a Norwegian translation, but Lucy said something like “I almost wish that someone had done something like this for me.”
Thank you, Jonathan K, that’s what I remembered, but why is the panel missing, and are there missing panels in other Sunday strips as well? I know that papers often chop the strips up in order to fit more on the page (a source of great frustration for Bill Watterson), but gocomics.com shouldn’t have any such restrictions. Just put up the strip in the wider three row format.
For some reason gocomics.com won’t let me post this as a reply to your message.

That’s the first time Linus has been able to laugh in Lucy’s face like that and get away with it!

Read that list in front of the mirror, Lucy.
Remember folks, when we point the finger at someone else there are 3 fingers pointing right back at us.

The idea is to make resolutions for yourself, Lucy.
summerdog86 about 9 years ago
Lucy’s list of reforms for herself, would be at least 3 times as long as that one.

I don’t believe in making New Year’s Resolutions. But Good Luck to those who do.And I think Lucy needs more resolutions than all of us put together!xxx

I classify Lucy under the Heading of Busy Body, rather than Reformer!!

The trouble with reformers is that most people don’t really want to reform. See the Anti-Saloon League and something called Prohibition.
