Never had kids, never wanted kids. My friends have kids and they ignore them like the 2nd panel. Why did they have them?

Until push comes to shove, it’s good to teach them independence. As long as they know you’re there when they need it.

I’m not a parent but I can see the reality in this. Doing anything for them doesn’t mean spoiling them rotten or bowing to every whim.
