Just buy them extra-large so she’ll feel really comfy, right?

Hubby and I stopped exchanging gifts years ago. We’re in our 70s, and don’t need a thing. That said, he did give me a pair of bedroom slippers a couple of years ago that I have worn until I had to patch the toes with duct tape. They resemble Ugg boots, made of a cable knit “wool”, fleece lined, with a tie at the ankle. He order me a new pair for this year. We both enjoy a certain series of books, but they come out once a year and by this time, we’ve forgotten the details of the first one. I went to Abebooks, and bought the first four (there are eight), and told him to act surprised on Christmas day.

The last time I went shopping with my wife to buy her a new outfit, we went to Southdale and first stopped at Dayton’s. Remember Dayton’s? Anyway, she looked at several outfits and then said she wanted to visit Donaldsons and then Penny’s. Remember Donaldsons?

Anyway, I said “I’ll just wait here, because you always compare what you first looked at to everything else you see, and come back and buy the first thing you looked at! So, I’ll just wait here for you!”

She rarely takes me with her anymore…

We’re just like *Dani Rice"………we stopped giving gifts about 15 years ago…………..the company I worked for supported City of Hope as it’s charity, and City of Hope asked for toys for the children in active chemo and their families. So……..we took the amount we would normally spend on each other, and bought all kinds of toys for those brave children. Giving never felt better.

We still give to the local “giving tree” children instead of each other.

Some suggestions for Adam:1. Spa day2. Weekly maid service for however long you can afford.3. Dinner at a nice restaurant followed by a night at a good hotel. (Be careful though: this has resulted in unexpected pregnancies for two of my acquaintances)

To hit a moving target with clothes, you need a T-shirt cannon, with the clothes rolled up into tight balls or cylinders.

Might not be so good to do with an evening gown.
