Our DMV put in a new computer system and decided training was unnecessary. Some systems analyst must have talked them into NO training. In any case wait times have almost doubled. Someday they will achieve the ultimate goal where you spend your whole life in a line from birth to death.

Inclusion of the word “Service” in those acronyms is clearly intended as irony.

I’m surprised she didn’t send him to another window, where he would be given another form and sent to another window, where he would be given another form and sent to another window, where he would be…

Gotta keep those govm’t employees busy!

A week or so ago it was time for me to renew my license, and I was (not) looking forward to a lengthy visit to my local DMV. To my surprise, since I have not had any accidents or tickets in many years, I was allowed to renew online. A few clicks, and they are mailing me a new license. I also needed to license a new vehicle a few months ago, and went over there, expecting the usual 2 hour line (queue, for our European friends), but instead, I used the new drive-in window, and it only took about the time it takes to get a hamburger. What is the world coming to?

We Hoosiers do most of our DMV (BMV here) work on line in a few minutes – I haven’t waited in a line in years.

Our local DMV office is frequently empty but they still require one “take a number” as you enter. I think it’s how they record the number of customers.

I recently went to renew my license at the DOL (Dept of Licensing), and had to stand in line to get a number to stand in line.
