When I was stationed overseas, I made weekly trips into Korea. One item that was popular with the nurses was a candle holder that had a bracket off to the side in which you can place a butterfly on a stick.
The candlestick holders lost popularity when it was reveled that in Asian culture, the butterfly is a symbol of sensual pleasures. The candlestick holder was used by prostitutes to put in the window. If she turned it so the butterfly obscured the flame, it meant that she was with a customer. If she turned it the other way, it meant that she was available.
