Girl: Dad, can you help me with the countries formed from the former soviet union? Man: Um, somethingistan usedtobeistan and err russkistan. Girl: Dad, you'd be in big trouble if you were in the 6th grade.
Since the US and, later on, all of NATO and the UN never recognized the annexation of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, a case can be made that they should not be considered “former Soviet republics” but, rather, “former occupied territories”.*-

Of course, when he was in sixth grade, those countries were provinces of the Soviet Union
tedcoop over 14 years ago
jfm, no they were not; they were republics in the Soviet Union.
Why is it that the show is called “Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader,” when it only tests knowledge, which has nothing to do with how smart one is?

I can still name all 50 states in alphabetical order off the top of my head (I know a song). Don’t ask me their capitals, though…

Fritzoid, I learned that song in the 5th grade. But… I also know all of the state capitals.
