Hate to say it, but there’s truth in Lila’s comment, unless the job went to someone who likes that field of work, or some aspects of it. In this case, customer service.
Chose your battles…..I think Lila is responding from a position of power. She could easily quit, but it would cost the company more to replace her than deal with her insubordination.
