THE SECRET SHAME OF TERRENCE Second in a series of instructional and motivational picture stories promoting proper usage of remote control devices Chad: Say, Terrence, may I have a word with you? Terrence: Oh, you want some more of Joan's famous sponge cake? Chad: Ha ha! Yes, Catherine and I had a wonderful time at your place last night, but...well, this is difficult to say... Terrence: Please, Chad! What is it?! I couldn't help noticing when we watched television after dinner, JOAN handled the remote control!! Chad: Terrence, you can't let a woman handle the remote! It's just not RIGHT!! Terrence: I know! I feel so...WEAK when she does that, especially in front of friends! But what can I do?! Chad: You've got to put this issue to her forcefully, Terrence -- BE A MAN!! Next Day: Chad: So, Terrence, are things more NORMAL in your home now? Terrence: No problem, Chad! Terrence: She just said, "What's the big deal? Go ahead -- hold the remote." Chad: Ha ha! Silly women! They just don't get it!

I knew it was going to work out fine. It’s not like he asks directions or notices people’s shoes.

A friend of mine has FOUR remotes. It takes him 20 minutes to turn on the TV and play a DVD. I sit back and chuckle. He also has a large lawn tractor, another symbol of masculinity. Another example, my brother called, we got 2" of snow and people were using large snoblowers. He and I both shoveled. We were laffing at the insanity.

That’s true of most utility vehicles: They have people who use them so that they can be the kind of guy who “has an X” and there are people who actually need one.
The most of an issue I have with the latter is the question of “why do you need a lawn that big?” Even that sometimes has a good answer.

Chad’s a true friend. He’s much better for Terrence than that harpy Joan.

Moss is taking over large sections of my lawn. Love it! It’s beautiful, a beneficial result of weather change due to changing climatic patterns. We’re also studying mushrooms. I don’t understand not being able to get to your house from the road, because of snow, though. We had a lane to the house, when I was a kid in Ohio, that was well over 1/4 mi. long. If you own that much land, you need a tractor-and a blade for road maintenance. Alternatively, a nice 4WD with good ground clearance ought to take care of things.

As there is nothing on tv remotely worth watching, my wife is welcome to the remote.
