Oh, man. Nate just had a bit of perspective forcefully shoved upon him.

What I think makes Big Nate such a great comic strip is that it isn’t concerned with having to make a joke at the end of every single strip like, say, Garfield. Big Nate is a comedy strip, of course, but it knows when and how to be serious and knows that not every strip necessarily needs a punchline to move along.

I bet you he fainted or had a concussion

I’m assuming he probably slipped and fell on the ice and hurt himself, he’ll be fine, but what a way to start off 2016 for Mr. Rosa and Nate!

Aw, not Mr. Rosa! If Mrs. Godfrey was in Mr. Rosa’s place, the boys’ reaction would be different most likely.

I wonder what happened… maybe it had something to do with getting the art materials ready? We’ll see tomorrow!

you notice that the nurse doesn’t seem that concerned? its probably because Mr. rosa isn’t badly hurt, and Lincon Pierce is just trying to make it seem like he’s hurt to build up suspense.

Don’t panic, kids…his face wasn’t covered with the sheet. (Could have been anything from a heart attack to, he slipped on a paint spill and threw out his back….)

Maybe he fell off the ladder he was using to scrape clay off the ceiling.
