Ralph: Look, Oogie! The door is open! It's a big, beautiful world out there! Most cats run away when given the chance!
Oogie: ... Yawn...
Ralph: Just sayin'...
Oogie: I think I'll go barf in the laundry room!
My youngest cat (all my cats were brought inside from being outdoor cats) heads in the opposite direction when a door is opened. She’s actually she’s improved. She used to RUN. Screamin’ (the one in the photo) did run out at the beginning, then he stopped. After a bit he might go out, then he sat right outside 7 looked for me to bring him back with a look of I didn’t relly mean to do that. I bought the harness & leash & we’d go for walks. He liked being outside, but needed the security of me & the leash. Then he tired of that also.

Indoor cats live longer healthier lives. Mine don’t even try to get out, and they’re all former strays.
