Wilberforce: Sunshine through raindrops can cause a rainbow, right? Brutus: That's right. Wilberforce: And snow is what rain becomes when it's cold outside? Brutus: Mm-hmm. Wilberforce: Then, when the sun shines through snowflakes, are there snow-bows?

Actually, yes. If it is really cold and the snow is light and higher up, you can have a snow bow if the sun shines through it just right. The same principal as sun dogs.

What’s really cool is when it drops down to like 20 below the frozen water crystals in the air can look like dust does when a sunbeam shines into a room. Each little crystal is suspended in the air and the tinniest of rainbow colors reflect off of them.

I remember watching the Weather Channel a few years ago. It was a blizzard. During the segment, Jim Cantore was reporting on the storm. When all of a sudden, there was a clap of thunder. Cantore was excited about the thunder snow. It seems that thunder snow is rare.
