When I was a kid, we had a very quiet dog. In 14 years, I think I heard her bark twice, and growl once. Our next door neighbors had a poodle that barked at EVERYTHING. The lady next door complained that the jingling of our dog’s tags (ID tag, rabies tag) made her poodle bark (when in reality, the poodle was always barking.) One day we discovered that someone had taped our dog’s tags together, so they wouldn’t jingle. That didn’t really stop their dog from barking, though.

My cat did when he escaped out of the house, he was gone all day and returned that night.
