He lied. He did go to work. And he did smell it. And it did make him hungry. So he went across the Lika Chicka and bought the Pollo Grande bucket (with double gravy) for a snack. And he didn’t change his shirt. He was grateful the lasagna smell covered the Lika Chicka smell so she didn’t ask why he didn’t share.
