When the swine flu of 1976 hit the company I worked for had everyone get a vaccination at work. We all lined up in cafeteria and got our shot.

The idiots are left in charge … as usual!

Must be a long lost relative.

No matter what precautions they take, those two won’t be safe from the swine flu.

Everything old is new again.

It’d hard to be sure, but I expect the Pennys are wearing their masks below their noses, covering only their mouths. (Not that their brains get any more oxygen that way…)

Just to be clear, the masks DO stop the flu when worn by the sick person. The study I saw on mask effectiveness was run before Covid-19 and used 9 flu patients (two different strains). 9 without masks transmitted the virus to the test medium; 9 with masks, zero transmission. The difference between flu and CV-19 is that with the flu, you know you’re sick almost as soon as you become contagious. Wearing a mask for flu, when you feel fine, isn’t really needed. You can be spreading CV-19 for two weeks before you know you have it.

Now THAT installment of the strip was a bit ahead of its time…..

11 year time gap, but shows the more things change, the more they stay the same. SARS, MERS, H1N1, CO-19…. That sign is rather ominous, “Sorry, if you are older than 75 you won’t get vaccinated in time”.

Didn’t make so much of a difference then…………
