I have to admit I do the same thing. My wife orders her breakfast with no cheese and no onions, and I ask to have cheese and onions added to my order. Of course the dollar they add to my meal for the extras is not deducted from her meal. So now she orders with cheese and onions on the side, now everybody’s happy. Wife gets no cheese or onions, I get cheese and onions, and waitress gets a dollar tip. (Ok, not that cheap. I’m not about to withdraw a tip from a waitress due to company policies. And I tip way more than a dollar.)
Burger places used to charge more for cheese on burgers. Now it comes with cheese, if you don’t want it you have to tell them. They don’t deduct anything. I don’t like cheese on my burgers.
