I think if they just put in a new battery, and maybe rotate the tires, she will be fine.

If I were a mechanic, the question I would be asking myself is, “How can I not take advantage of the situation?” I would tell her when I was done that I fixed the bulb, it might be a little dim occasionally, but she should be ok.

So: should one regale all in earshot with that lame-oh joke about how you saw the check engine light, so you go out and look under the hood and say: yup! There it is! Oops! Already dunnit!

They probably both passed the burning smell off to “just passed” gas…..numerous times over a lengthy period…………

Ma can test the light by checking it when she first turns the key on. All lights should come on for a second or less. If not, they’s burned out or you got problems!

Gas goes in one end, oil goes in the other end, and lots of money goes out the window…

It costs $300 to replace instrument cluster lightbulbs. It costs $2500 to replace a touch panel display.
