I read the Lord of the Rings before and after the movies came out. I did find the books more enjoyable after watching the movies, picturing the movie characters as I read. The balrog in the book is scary. The balrog in the movie is absolutely terrifying.
…my biggest movie letdown of all times was when “The Shining” (the first one) came out….the ONLY positive thing I took away from that film was Jack Nicholson having been cast as Jack Torrance….everything else……ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ……..
