I have small measuring spoons labeled “Tad”, “Dash” and “Smidgen”. And isn’t a “jigger” a shot glass?
I thought all their cooking came from right out of the freezer or from a box.

Old recipe books (over 60 years ago, approximately) read like that a lot. It was one of the things that foundational chefs like Julia Child and Irma Rombauer tried to correct.
Understand how her daughter feels her dash’s and pinches could be entirely different
the fine print says: “If the cake is for Burl’s B-Day, add 3 sprigs of onion and one bunch of garlic”….!
