I used to tow a trailer similar to this one as part of my work. Turning the wheel to the right makes the trailer hitch move to the right, causing the opposite reaction in the trailer moving to the left. Burl is getting bad advice. If backing up you don’t need to turn the wheel at all. If the trailer moves to the left, you correct it by steering slightly to the left. The trailer will then move slightly to the right.
I spent many years renting trailers to the general public. They’d come back with the tongue all bent, and explanations on why it wasn’t the renters fault.
