Our tree went up on Christmas Eve and came down on 12th Night (Epiphany). (That is what the 12 days of Christmas means!) Then everyone in the neighborhood brought their trees to our house and we had a big bonfire, drank cocoa and cider and sang Christmas carols!

One Christmas, after we opened the gifts, dad was sitting next to the tree and started taking the tinsel off, until mom made him stop.
