It looks like”-ous” unless you know it’s “-cus”. I follow football enough that I initially read “Jamarcus”, but when I read runar’s “Jamarous” I could understand his confusion. A similar phenomenon explains why comic book writers are discouraged from using the word “FLICK”, and why, on “Barney Miller”, the credit for producer “Theodore J. Flicker” always gave me a chuckle if I was watching on a set with low resolution.
