He can probably find it without a map. But making something is another thing completely.

I’d be eating a whipping if I had done that.

In a few years Mom will be mad at him for heading straight to the fridge when he gets home. Some parents are never satisfied.

That kind of reaction(Calvin’s) would have gotten me sent to my room and probably would have had to remain there until the next morning when hopefully my attitude would have moderated ! ! !

Barely a dusting of snow on the ground in Chattanooga. Still cold and windy, though.

Make him a tofu and spinach sandwich on crusty bread. And don’t cut the crust off.

The gag reflex would be enough to stifle my appetite…

Tofu gan—pressed and smoked tofu—is about half an inch thick and delicious. I can’t eat it anymore due to health issues. I really miss it.

My Father told me at around age 12 that a lot of kids run away and that he would by me a one way buss ticket to anywhere in the U.S.

That’s what my mother said. I’d come home from school for lunch and she’d say: There’s the refrigerator, help yourself. She was “busy” reading.

Japanese. They eat kudzu. We should follow their example

    No, I think I’ll pass…

I have a very close friend who is Japanese, and he eats steaks, prime rib, pork chops, turkey, chicken, bacon, corned beef, etc.

By the way, he is extremely healthy…

Recently we’ve been subjected to temperatures around -24 or -25 C (-31 C with wind chill) (aka -13 F, -24 F with wind chill) at nights and on a few days it was around -24 as well.

Today we’re lucky as we may get up to -3 C.

We had no snow that stayed until post Christmas (then about 12-15") despite being the capital city of Canada. They only just opened the world’s longest outdoor skating rink (The Rideau Canal) this last weekend.

I can easily handle up to about -10-15 C if the wind isn’t biting, but summer temps over 30 C (86 F) with humidity (typical for Ottawa) are unpleasant.

My mom’s line was always “What did your last servant die of?”
