Interesting how both Calvin and Curtis are confronted with bullies today. At least Curtis got away.

Bullies rule because they can. With kids, size matters, and a big kid against a little kid alone will always win. Especially since bullies generally pick targets who they know they can beat. But then, our class bully was a martial arts expert (for his age) and could take down anyone in the school.

In my case, it was Craig, who always had followers.

The sad thing is that bullies are a problem in schools everywhere and that teachers and administration give a lot of lip service to prevention but do very little about it.

Had bullies at our school too. I knocked the bejesus out of one and two days later his big brother, a year older, came up and tried to start something. I knocked the bejesus out of him too. I was a school hero for a day. Those two never messed with anyone as far as I can remember. Never mess with quiet guys. We have a lot of pent up anger and can release it violently. I told my kids to never start anything but it’s ok to finish it.In today’s day & age it might not be a good idea to finish anything. It’s better to walk away than get mortally injured by someone.

It’s interesting how a discussion about bullying in the comments devolved pretty quickly into ideological bullying.
