Right before this strip, I read Red & Rover, and noticed the escalator riders were leaning back. I thought, “that doesn’t happen,” and then came to this strip.
Is that an E-scale Ator?

Ella Vader prefers to be known as E. Vader.
That explains why you never see her in public.

The way I heard it was that if Ella Fitzgerald married Darth Vader, she’d be Ella Vader.
If he was in treble before he went down, now he should be in the bass-ment.
