I retired in 2013 and I felt that there would be a layoff that year so I volunteered. I thought it would be a good thing to do. That way a younger guy could keep his job. Also, if I got laid off I would get severance pay. If I retired I wouldn’t. Well, we had a layoff and I kept my job. Another guy who had recently bought a house was one that was let go.
