Texting is a thoroughly uncivilized substitute for actual communication. We should all be issued hammers & a license to, any time we see someone with their face in a stupidphone, take it & give it 3 good whacks. For the sake of humanity.
I’m with you! We have a basic phone and no one knows the number. I just hope I can figure out how to call 911 if I need to. I do e-mail fairly often. And I chat with my kids on Words With Friends between calls. (Yes, I do have a landline). I have never been a phone person.
I’m the strong, silent type, but I do use email when needed, and sometimes text. My wife and I share a phone account, she does all the talking, I use most of the data and all of the texts. Talk and texts are unlimited, and we never come near using all our data.

I talk (too much) … I text…. I email….I don’t tweet, or “Facebook” (which seems to have become a … neoverb?)
(Hey, I just made up my own “neo”-neologism.)

And Bev… you’re right, it’s confusing.
The question sounded very familiar…and both strips, the one here and the one you pasted from Facebook, say “Jan 6th” but no year.
So I used the calendar up there to page back through the last few Jan 6th’s in the archives…
The Facebook strip is from Jan 6th 2010… but there was no question back then.
And we just answered that question on Dec 16th of this year…. with a different strip.
So… what’s up?
There doesn’t seem to be a new question for the new strip above… but hey, we’re answering the other one, anyway.

Text is quicker than e-mail! But shorter and need sometimes 2 to get a point across!

I do not do text. If I receive a text, I delete it without reading it.

I don’t text, but I do speak in clear, concise English, as all American citizens should…

Shoveling? I thought everybody these days had snow blowers.
