    I LOVE Checkers! Tho’ somehow I never used Rover’s clever winning strategy. Way to Go! Have fun, kids!

    That reminds me of my cousin when we were kids. When I was in a better position in the game, he would “accidentally” knock the board over then say “if we had kept playing, I would have won anyway”. Made me furious!

    Didn’t want to, but couldn’t resist adding a comment about the board game: CHECKERS. I was a good player, my mother was (and continues to be) a sore loser. She overturned that board every time…just couldn’t lose to me.

    mymontanaWe would play chess between the end of eating and the end of lunch period. To combat “stalling for the bell”, we would have 8×8 pieces of graph paper and mark white in pencil, black in ink, and a line somewhere to indicate whose move. The game continued the next day. Very effective.
