trivia |ˈtrivēə|pl.noundetails, considerations, or pieces of information of little importance or value: we fill our days with meaningless trivia. So, by this definition, Caulfield’s knowledge of the minutiae of coffee brewing (and many other things, obviously) isn’t trivia, since he sees it as important.

It is: OTC, though sometimes you need to ask for it from behind the counter.It was a staple in our medicine chest when we had kids and dogs living here.
