My world has turned into a sheet of ice! It snowed all last night and this morning, and now we have freezing rain! the back yard looks like a skating rinkThe Police have asked people not to drive anywhere tonite, you just know a baby somewhere will decide to make an appearance! Saw on the news that cars are slipping all over and most streets have abandoned cars in the middle of them.Stores and schools are closed for tomorrow and the kids will get an extra day (or two) of vacation. Those of you in the snow belt, stop laughing, we don’t know what to do with snow and ice. lol
As to the comment that it is cruel to dress the cat in clothes, I took it to mean the deed was cruel in general and not that the poster of the photo was cruel. We shouldn’t be so quick with our condemnation here.
I moving the big stuff today and I AM NOT READY!!!!! Please think about me. May be off line for a couple of days. At least the weather is good here. Cats are freaking out. Hope they settle down. Tonight will be the first night in the new place. Wish me luck.
Is today’s a repeat? I ask because Annie is not as attractive. The smarty mouthed cats are though. LOL-———————————————————————————
Grandkids left yesterday. Best visit ever. The little one is a brat…his older brother is a pleasure….sort of like human Chesney and sweet Oliver. Evan (age 8 and had brain surgery) won a purple belt in Tae Kwon Doe recently.
My weather finally decided to turn winter-y. Fat fluffy flakes last night made driving cautious. It is melting away slowly today. I personally think there is a limit to dressing up a cat. He doesn’t look happy. That’s sad. We are all tolerant folks here. That’s why it’s such a great place to ‘hang out’. My girl tolerates her vest when going outside. I have too many other animals in my neck of the woods , I try to make us Both happy and her Safe
@Rikki: the note on the cat is great! One smart kitty and kind folks. I had a situation with my late, great Pierre. A neighbor 3 houses down used to take him in, feed him and prepared a room for him! I asked them not to take him in but it continued so Pierre became my first indoor/back porch kitty.
A friend of mine came over last night and brought some homemade tuna cat treats. They have to be refrigerated. I put one down for Sheba after my friend left and she sniffed it and walked away. Fortunately, I think outside Black Kitty will eat them. She also left me a page with the recipies for tuna cat treats and turkey cat treats. If any one is interested, I can try and post them this week. Let me know. Hugs, Rose >^..^<
beviek: The cathorse (or is it horsecat?) cracks me up.
Between Christmas and yesterday I spent way too much money at PetCo on cat toys (half off). I need to weed out some of the ones in the kitten room but mostly they’ll be for the cats at PetCo. They won’t know they’re red and green jingle balls or Christmas mousies. I’ve cut all of the feathers off of the jingle balls – I’m always afraid a cat or kitten will choke on them. I’m debating on how to get Moose to try on the elf outfit so I can take his picture. Brad goes back to work tomorrow so I’m on my own for this undertaking.
Susan took Lulu to the vet today; we both noticed she just was not eating much. Turn out she has a VERY loose tooth. The vet said this kind of thing only happens in cats who are about 15 yrs old! So now we know she is a lot older than we thought, which is going to make an adoption even harder.
He was going to mildly sedate her and just remove it. He said he could just pull it out but it would be painful for her.
As we all know, when we take on the responsibility of an animal, vet bills go with it. And I’m not sure we’re up to that right now. The older a pet gets, the costlier the vet bills. I told Susan that I might consider keeping her (IF she gets along with our 3) but I am concerned about the cost.
She suggested that I become her permanent foster mom; that way her health care would come out of our donations when needed if they got to be too much for me. At 15, I’m thinking she might just have 1-3 yrs left..
So, I’m coming here for peoples thoughts on this. It’s a huge decision for us.
Our cat is nearly 24 years old and we’ve started acupuncture to help with her arthritis. It’s not cheap but it helps so it’s worth it. I’m thinking if you have help with health care for her, she is worth keeping if she fits in the household. That’s just my thoughts on the subject.

Rikkie Tavi, is that note for real? That’s something, isn’t it? :-) And is the cat in question the next photo? Very pretty cat.
