I lived in a house where hushed footsteps would follow you. I love horror stories and all that but not as a reality. It wasn’t a ghost but the carpet pad. It was so deep that it would compress then make a whooshy noise when you lifted your foot.
The first house we bought had a “ghost”. It would open closed cabinets and doors but never caused real mischief. We named it Jonesie and blamed anything out of the ordinary on him. When we moved from that house he moved with us. My youngest still claims that he poked her in the back one night and woke her up. She said she thought it was her Dad playing a trick on her but there was no one else in the room but her (and Jonesie)!
Ever been in a 300 year old house in England that had you feeling you weren’t wanted in one room but where there seemed to be eyes watching you in another? Weird. Plus the apparition at the top of the stairs and the house cat’s fur standing straight up as he led you up the stairs.

I’ve been in two haunted buildings in my life (to date, anyway).

One of the first rental places I looked at was actually an old slave quarters. Still had anchors for the shackles in the wall. Decided not.

You mean to tell me that realtors help people sell or buy houses for money? What a novel idea !

If it is haunted, I wonder if it’s in the disclosure?
