That’s a praying mantis. I had one about ten inches long on the windshield of my car once. I didn’t notice it until I was in motion. By the end of the trip, I think it was actually praying.
Back when we were kids we used to keep them as “pets”.
We fed them grasshoppers etc. and they would hang around and stay with us. They knew on what side their bread was buttered :-D
