People laugh at this comic, and it deserves to be laughed at; but it can be so true to life. Carl Peake is someone we’ve all met in our lives.
The genius of this comic is that I’m starting to feel sorry for Carl.
“thejudge” I totally agree. Gil will be golfing 9 with Carl sooner than later. The bad news is that I think it will take more time than that to get this guy turned around.
Carl plays Dave not golf, my friend Dave allows himself 1 drive, 1 iron, 1 chip, and 1 putt mulligan per round, lakes are casual water, hand wedge out of any trap (old eye injury) and the occasional green peace protect the trees foot wedge. But on the plus side he doesn’t care if he wins or loses. Carl on the other hand appears to cheat the old fashioned way using highly refined selective stroke memory which is great until you get in a tournament and your handicap is several strokes lower than it should be, then that single digit HC bites you in the Carl.
Gil will be golfing with Carl at night. Gil’s game will improve dramatically over the summer and he will kick Peake arse by the middle of August. They will all gather afterwards, flashlights in tow, with Police Chief Lind for early a.m. donuts.
I dont remember who asked me if I was old enough to remember the TV show Family Affair from the 60’s. LOL no I dont know it, I was born in 78. This is getting boring with the golf. When will football season start?? Bring that to the strip please.

I don’t. They’re jerks, and they deserve all the grief they get.

Hey, Captain Kangaroo, nice hat, really nice hat - did you get a free bowl of soup with it when you bought it? Looks good on you, though.
I think Gil and Carl need a “beer democracy” session.

Carl needs a new chestnut: “Winners never cheat, and cheaters never win.”

Sounds like a perfect opportunity for Gil to join Carl for a quick nine during which Gil will attempt to take some sense to dear old dad.

davidblack and Ravenswing is a perfect example of what sets humans apart from the animal world, by “Intelligent Design” not chance.
Kempers’ mohawk fits nicely where Carls’ baldness is.
Perfect form Gil! You are master of all physical sport! Wait a minute golf a physical sport??? Ha!

Gil is probably a scratch golfer, and will give Mr. Peake his well deserved comeuppance.

In Panel #2 it looks like lightning is shooting off from Gil’s head.

jamesmcl0828, that’s nothing compared to the smoke billowing from his butt in P3.

I think they are going to feature cross country and tennis this fall. Football team will take a year off.
