Is that Holly in human form? Is she black?

No Holly isn’t the waitress. But one wish after another :)

Aaron began the story of Wally and Holly’s travels in the great waste with a flashback of Holly’s first encounter with a mutant. It showed Holly as a caucasian with short blond hair. The flashback starts here Vhttp://www.gocomics.com/endtown/2013/11/25

I think Holly was a white blond when she was human…?

How do we know that’s not a human Holly?

I think so, kd1sq, I believe I saw her in a cop car with a detective being chased by a humongous hungry millipede during some prequel storyline, a long time back.

I hope one of them remembered to bring money.

Many of you had some really great comments from yesterday or, Friday, I appreciate all of you.I had several things go missing in the mail these last several weeks.Plus now I know Amazon has the latest book.

So, about today, I think they will see Holly, but since this is Pre-war and or mutations, She wouldn’t recognize them.If pre-mutations they are going to seem Very Strange.We may see Holly with Lynn, it probably isn’t Wally, but sometimes people go by their middle name.

I suppose since this is some sort of restaurant with waitresses, we’ll be seeing Holly at work here sometime soon.

That’s NOT Holly unless the Ditto’s are still messing with them.BTW, is Holly able to see what’s going on (and what happened)?

Will they be eating dittoes?Do Dittoes get soggy in milk?Is the milk made of dittoes and does it matter?Never trust a Ditto, they make up everything.

Now I lean towards a Marx appearance.This is a bit more his style.Having fun, little scary.I hope he makes a good looking waitress.I would not put it past him to do that.

The waitress’ name may be Holly. She’s just not our Holly.

Wow it’s been so long since they’ve seen a human. Topsiders just look like suits. Here’s one in the flesh! Although, won’t they infect her almost immediately, with the virus they exhale?

Wally confirmed that someone is behind the scenes keeping an eye on them and manipulating events. Zip! Into the diner they go. Is Holly there too? Or do they get to eat breakfast first and then be taken to her?

Ask, and you shall receive. And what fast service, too…

After all they have been through i would think the last thing they would want is Eggs..We don’t know what Holly looked like before the change, that could be her. That aside, the waitress uniform is symbolic to Wally as it represents part of what Holly is.

Anyone seen Irving?.Haven’t seen him lately, and that bugs me…

As for the shoes, there was Paul McCartney walking barefoot across Abbey Road. To this day some people think Paul died and was replaced by a lookalike.

Here is a field goal attempt.About as off as the Viking attempt but an attempt is an attempt.Wally is wide eyed because he is looking at human Flask.She always wished she could have really “served” the people of Endtown.Now she has her chance…..Marx is the cook and owner of this fine dining establishment. Bench seating only no chairs in the aisle and someone get Chic a booster seat…..Laughing all the way…..its Vets way.

Given how quick things changed, and the things Wally said in the last strip, I’m guessing that all of this is a ditto illusion of Hillside right before the war started. Since the “people” aren’t real (I suspect) they probably don’t have to worry about infection or the mutagen. They probably won’t even notice that Wally, Kirbee and Chic are different. (having said that, the waitress might just ask what a cat a lizard and a bird are doing at her table)This will probably be strangest for Chic. He was born after the plague and may have never have seen even a picture of the “normal” human form. He may not understand that the waitress standing before him is typical of the way humans used to look before the great mutation.

Can we have kippers for breakfast?

The waitress’s uniform looks exactly like Holly’s. Methinks Holly is probably close by.

Human (looking) waitress. Hmm, the soup thickens.

Do we know what job Holly held down as a human? The waitress job may have been an Endtown thing.

I’m wondering when she lost the baby. Before the radiation, after? Or was she pregnant when the radiation hit, with her asleep or unconscious, and, God forbid, the baby awake in her womb…

Irving?

Irving may have been left behind in the ship when Chic and Kirbee went through the portal. There’s no indication that Chic untied him first.

I’m beginning to wonder what kinds of jobs were open to women in Hillside before the end. Much of the world of “Endtown” has a 30s-40s-50s feel. In those times, women were expected to quit their jobs when they were married and become housewives. As a result women were usually limited to certain “feminine” professions like teaching, nursing and waiting tables. There were some exceptional women who moved beyond the expected professions but they were few and far between. Thus, if Hillside was like our reality in the 50s, there is a good chance that Holly was a waitress before the end.

I think the “humans” aren’t immune, but are really mutants whose animal species was “human”.

I’m guessing that’s Alley- Hollie’s co-worker before she became an Alligator

That would be a most effective way to “twist the bayonet” in Wally’s guilty conscious.
