We call those “solicitors” “chuggers” – charity muggers. Can’t stand them, especially as usually they are not volunteers, but paid to do that and often a huge part (sometimes) all of your first year’s donation goes to the company that employs them.
And then about 50 Krishnas dance down the street and everyone has to pay for a “free” book to stay on the sidewalk.
